Chairman Mao's Mistress (though I too could easily vote for more than one)

also Didi, can you make a tiny correction in my name, it should be Deirdre

thanks!

& for the great fun of being on the list - big smile - the radio thing sounds grand, wow, I'll try! (technology, dial-up, ack)

this is tough. i like them all for different reasons! i don't know! pick a number, im serious!

gingerivers said...

This is tough. The ones I like most are

Spokane-Hoerman

Though it seems more prose than poetry, (for me) it carries a lot of weight.

Volant-Helm

"but this is...and this is how"

The Girl God Cheats On-Deirdre

Unusual...highly creative

Aghhhhhhhh....

Volant is my choice.

Nellie, volant, Mao's Mistress, and the girl God cheat's on walk into a bar. I buy drinks for them all.

ugh. "cheats on"--I hate typos.

Spokane gets my vote. I usually don't go for prose poems, but this one carried such a smooth poetic synthesis--the tension of the subject matter made the form poetry, I mean.

Steven D. Schroeder said...

My vote's for "The Girl God Cheats On"

Clay Matthews said...

Congrats to all on fine poems. My vote goes to "Volant."
