What image comes to mind when you think of Telephone Wires?

Actually, I just want to know what people think of when they think of telephone wires? I can't stop thinking about how they dangle. Dangle. What a fun word to say--dangle. In fact, what else dangles and still has the opportunity to be buried after a couple of storms or a shovel in winter? I've noticed that many telephone wires dangle completely to the ground--some touch. I'd never let my fingers touch a telephone wire that was dangling--that'd be suicide wouldn't it. Dangling death. Amazing how close we come to death everday. Something telephone companies have been dangling over our heads for years.

I've ripped the telephone wires out of the wall. I've tied up my lover. It was only the telephone extension in the bedroom so there were two sets of wires - those for the power with which I've tied his ankles - and those for the phone with which I've tied his wrists. I've been kissing him all over for about two hours and I'm thirsty. The phone downstairs still works because it's rung several times. I need to go and get a glass of water. I'll take the phone off the hook. Some ice cubes too and I can tease him with them and warm him all over with my body. He is saying Tell me you love me alternating with Don't answer that. Between kisses. He doesn't struggle against any of this. Telephone wires can hurt if he struggles. He knows that. They're purrfect. The poem in my head is entitled All The Day I Loved Through Telephone Wires

Shoes, perhaps because when I read over this that was what I thought of. Tennis shoes. And it's not suicide to touch a dangling telephone wire, there's not enough voltage going through. An electric line is a totally different matter though, it probally would kill you, though I wouldn't reach up and try with either.

Today while out shopping we noticed a huge flock of birds, when I say huge, I mean huge. There were at least 4-500 birds. They were all lining up on the wires.

The sun was hitting them just right, making their heads glow. From a distance it looked like strings of old fashioned christmas bulbs.

Nowdays, whenever I think of any kind of wires on poles, I see the poles cracked in half, as if a giant had slapped them, wires lying amuck in yards or in the street. Hurricane visions are slow to die.

That's true Pris, I hadn't thought of that. When I read Finchnot's reply that's what stuck in my head, seeing tennis shoes thrown across wires.
